About The Position

The Concrete Foreman is responsible for overseeing and managing concrete construction projects from start to finish. This includes supervising a team of workers, ensuring quality standards are met, coordinating with project managers and subcontractors, and ensuring safety protocols are followed on-site. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in concrete work, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of construction methods and techniques.

Requirements

  • Experience in concrete construction or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Foreman or similar role in overseeing concrete construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of concrete work, including formwork, rebar placement, pouring, and finishing.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with modern construction equipment and techniques.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to motivate and manage a diverse crew, maintaining productivity and morale on-site.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Ability to work in outdoor conditions, perform physical tasks, and operate machinery.
  • Capable of lifting heavy objects (50+ lbs) and standing for extended periods.
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • An associate's or bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field is a plus.
  • Certification in OSHA Safety or other relevant safety training is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the concrete crew, ensuring that all work is completed on schedule, within budget, and to required specifications.
  • Supervise the pouring, leveling, and finishing of concrete on projects, such as foundations, walls, sidewalks, and other structures.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project plans to ensure all specifications are followed accurately.
  • Monitor the quality of concrete materials and ensure proper mixing ratios, placement, and curing.
  • Conduct on-site inspections to ensure that work meets required safety and quality standards.
  • Identify potential problems or issues in advance and resolve them effectively to minimize project delays.
  • Assign daily tasks to workers, oversee their performance, and provide coaching and guidance as needed.
  • Train workers on proper concrete handling techniques, use of machinery, and safety procedures.
  • Ensure team members adhere to safety guidelines and wear appropriate protective equipment.
  • Ensure all safety protocols are in place and followed by the crew on-site.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and toolbox talks to minimize risks.
  • Inspect equipment to ensure it is in safe working condition.
  • Liaise with project managers, site engineers, and other trades to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Provide regular progress updates to the project manager and suggest improvements or adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials used, time spent, and work completed.
  • Report any issues, accidents, or delays to the project manager immediately.
  • Track crew hours and approve timecards for payroll processing.
