Ready to shape the future of resilient communities? Verdantas is seeking a Field Technician Intern for our Plymouth, MI location. This hands-on role focuses on construction materials testing and requires an MCA certification. The ideal candidate will support field operations, ensuring quality and compliance across a variety of infrastructure projects.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload
  • Proficiency with standard computer programs, such as Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels, internally and externally
  • ACI/MCA Concrete Field Testing Technician and Nuclear Safety Certified certifications are a must
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly and 80 lbs. periodically
  • Applicant must have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and proof of insurance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in the construction materials testing field is desirable

Responsibilities

  • Conduct advanced field and laboratory tests on construction materials, structures, and systems
  • Perform inspections and assessments of projects to ensure compliance with specifications and standards
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data from tests and inspections
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation of findings
  • Operate and maintain advanced field and laboratory equipment
  • Assist in the development and implementation of project plans and protocols
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff and team members
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance programs
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to the Project Manager/Supervisor
  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures
