About The Position

Lee's Summit Parks and Recreation is an accredited, gold medal award-winning agency with over 45 full-time professionals and over 300 seasonal and part-time staff who provide the Lee's Summit community with dozens of quality recreational opportunities. EOE Employment at LSPR guarantees the opportunity to learn communication and organizational skills, professionalism, and civic responsibility while building outstanding personal and work relationships. $15.00/hourly Responsible for processing high volumes of financial transactions related to the sales of concessions; maintaining critical cash controls; preparing and handling food and concessions items in accordance with established standards and practices; and performing general maintenance and sanitary duties related to operations at the facility. Job Scope No supervisory or budgetary responsibilities.

Requirements

Must be at least 15 years of age
Must possess valid food handler’s permit through Jackson County, Missouri.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to communicate with patrons, co-workers, and management/supervisors, professionally and respectfully.
Ability to maintain self-control and composure and set a professional example for the staff and participants.
Skills in basic math and ability to process financial transactions.
Understanding of food service processes and applicable health codes and regulations.
Skills in communications and providing exceptional patron service.
Ability to maintain a clean, safe, work environment.
Ability to exhibit qualities of maturity, cooperation, and good public image, maintaining self control and composure.
Ability to accept direction from Management staff.
Ability to relate to the needs of staff and participants.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve food and beverages in accordance with established standards and food safety requirements.
Ensure concessions area is kept clean, sanitary and maintained in an orderly fashion and performs opening, closing and periodic maintenance and cleaning tasks as directed.
Monitor sales of items, maintain accurate inventory, re-stocks as necessary, and advises management staff of reordering needs.
Observe equipment and promptly report to management staff any malfunctions, maintenance needs or other concerns.
Processes financial transactions, maintains transaction history, balances cash drawer and maintains critical cash controls related to the sales of concessions items.
When assigned, performs duties associated with pool deck, including cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, ensuring pool decks, walkways and adjacent areas are free of foreign objects, performing light landscape maintenance, cleaning, sweeping and mopping of facility areas as needed, and disposing of trash as needed.
Enforces facility rules and regulations; takes appropriate action in the event of patron incidents.
Provides patron services as needed or directed, including telephone coverage.
May be responsible for operating public address system, at the direction of management staff.
Maintains safety by following LSPR guidelines, policies and procedures.
Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings and mandatory in-service training sessions as scheduled.
Ensures enforcement of rules and regulations of LSPR.
Performs all other related duties as assigned.
