COMSEC Auditor
About The Position
Position Summary: The COMSEC Auditor will plan and conduct COMSEC audits and COMSEC training for the protection of COMSEC materials and items. This position will maintain COMSEC databases and interactions with field sites, other government agencies, CORs/Auditors, Committee on national Security Systems and National Office of Record. The ideal candidate understands how to be proactive in the COMSEC environment adapting to changes to operations, equipment, policy, and audits, highly analytical and problem solving oriented, and be able to effectively communicate with senior level field oversight. This position requires extensive travel.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 5 years of combined experience conducting COMSEC audits and/or performing COR operations.
- Experience protecting Type 1 encryption keys and CCI.
- Experience supporting COMSEC accounts and associated equipment.
- Demonstrated compliance with CNSS and NSA policies and requirements.
- Experience serving as a COMSEC custodian.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct COMSEC audits and inventories in accordance with Agency and applicable national policies for the protection of COMSEC materials, classified information, and Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI) equipment.
- Prepare detailed COMSEC audit reports and documentation.
- Review and process COMSEC-related requests.
- Conduct inquiries and investigations into COMSEC incidents.
- Develop, prepare, and deliver COMSEC training sessions and security briefings.
- Perform day-to-day Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) activities.
- Coordinate with the National Office of Record, as required.
- Travel to field sites to conduct COMSEC audits and provide training.
- Maintain electronic databases and official records related to COMSEC activities.
- Assist with COMSEC key transfers to field sites and related training certifications.
- Perform duties as a COMSEC account manager, as required.
