About The Position

Summary/Objective Under the supervision of the Director of Technology and Systems Administrator, and in collaboration with District Network and Cyber Security administrators, provide front-line support on multiple campuses across the District. Install, maintain, troubleshoot and upgrade computer hardware, software, personal computer networks, and relevant software applications. Assess user training needs and train users in effective use of educational and informational technologies. Perform related work and other duties as assigned. Serve as a troubleshooter for hardware problems with employee computers and related equipment. Install and configure employee computer and peripheral computer equipment, including printers, scanners, digital cameras, bar code readers, etc. Install, terminate, test and troubleshoot network cabling, including cable conduit, raceways, patch panels and modular keystone jacks. Move, add, and change computer and telephone equipment. Maintain data and device security compliance according to District standards. Maintain accurate reporting of work performed using enterprise-level ticket tracking systems. Maintain inventory control of parts required in repairs or replacement. Act as a technical resource in assisting users to resolve problems with equipment and data; staff a centralized help desk to facilitate exchange of information and advice. Maintain knowledge of and adheres to all policies, regulations and rules. Perform related duties as assigned in a safe and prudent manner. Ability to stay current on technology related to District’s applications, networks and telecommunications and the equipment and software required to maximize system support.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and two or more years of experience in computer technology, personal computer repair, operating software, or basic electronics; or, any combination of education and experience that would allow the incumbent to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Copy of current 39 month driving history (dated within one (1) month from the date printed) issued by the DMV
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card with an IVP number through the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree in Computer Information Systems or two years of college-level coursework in computer science, information technology or a related field

  • CompTIA A+ certification
  • Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) certification
