About The Position

The Computer Technician I (EMR1) role applies to varied job functions within the facility, all requiring similar skill levels, responsibilities, and expectations. The EMR1 is responsible for tearing down and replacing parts in systems, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and determining the most cost-effective course of action to repair hardware and software issues across Tablets, Notebooks, Desktops, and Servers--depending on the assigned Line of Business. Key job functions may include GDO (Burn and PC-Doctor Testing), DFS (Cosmetic Repair, Cosmetic Logging, Pack-out), Conus (Induction, Burn), and CFS (L2).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; 0--2 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient PC skills, including Word and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Technical ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair systems.
  • Ability to follow policies and procedures
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret information
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
  • Ability to sit, walk, or stand for the duration of the shift
  • Must possess visual acuity to perform essential job functions
  • Ability to conduct physical tasks with a full range of motion throughout the warehouse environment
  • Ability to lift/carry items up to 50 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • A+ certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with material handling and RF equipment is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Run production in the Burn area as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with operators from other shifts.
  • Comply with OSHA and MSDS standards.
  • Diagnose and determine system issues requiring EMR repair routing.
  • Load and unload product efficiently and safely.
  • Move product to storage areas using proper equipment; stack and store merchandise appropriately.
  • Pick orders for shipment and assemble merchandise as needed.
  • Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently; may use RF equipment for picking, receiving, and storing functions.
  • Drive factory vehicles, forklifts, and pallet jacks as required.
  • Cross-train teammates in all currently assigned roles.
  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and damage-free.
  • Operate within SOPs and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
  • Participate in physical inventories.
  • Perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking tasks.
  • Provide on-the-job training to new teammates.
  • Train Burn techs to identify failure types and route units appropriately (e.g., reset BOM, rest unit, route to EMR for hardware failure).
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Disposition inventory between recovery grades (retail, wholesale, sort and settle).
  • Conduct cosmetic inspection and cleaning of products; follow guidelines for label placement and orientation.
