About The Position

The Computer Teacher will deliver high-quality instruction in computer science, digital literacy, and technology integration to students in grades [insert range]. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Education, Instructional Technology, or related field.
  • Valid teaching license or ability to obtain one in Nevada.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in educational technology and computer applications.
  • Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
  • Passion for technology and innovation in education.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Frequent use of computers, keyboards, and AV equipment.
  • The ability to lift up to 25 pounds (e.g., technology equipment or instructional materials).
  • Occasional bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • Maintaining a calm, focused demeanor in a fast-paced educational setting.
  • The teacher must be able to manage multiple student groups, respond to technical and classroom needs promptly, and adapt instruction based on available technology and student understanding

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching K-12 students in a school setting.
  • Familiarity with coding platforms (e.g., Code.org, Scratch, Python) and learning management systems (e.g., Google Classroom, Canvas).
  • Knowledge of ISTE Standards for Students and Educators.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging computer science lessons aligned to school standards and student learning needs.
  • Teach topics such as digital literacy, keyboarding, internet safety, coding (e.g., Scratch, Python), robotics, and productivity tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office).
  • Integrate technology tools into student projects and cross-curricular learning experiences.
  • Promote responsible digital citizenship and online safety.
  • Maintain a well-organized, student-centered, and inclusive computer lab or technology classroom.
  • Provide support and guidance to students with diverse learning needs and technological proficiencies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support school-wide technology integration and STEAM initiatives.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of grades and attendance.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
  • Ensure equipment is used properly and coordinate with IT staff for maintenance and troubleshooting.
