About The Position

Install, configure, maintain, and support the hardware and software systems used in our manufacturing and office environments, and provide technical assistance and training to system users.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field, plus 1-3 years of related experience.
  • Exceptional working knowledge of computer systems, including networks, servers, and system maintenance.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to respond to incidents and requests quickly and efficiently, while adjusting priorities.
  • Manual dexterity for typing, sitting at a desk and looking at a computer screen for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 25-30 pounds and standing for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, modifies, configures, and repairs computer hardware and software systems, and provides technical assistance to system users.
  • Installs, configures, troubleshoots, and upgrades manufacturing floor computer components, such as labeling equipment, shop floor devices, hand-held terminals, etc.
  • Installs, configures, and troubleshoots computer networks.
  • Installs, configures, monitors, and maintains stand-alone/network printers and/or multi-function devices.
  • Documents standard operating procedures and work.
  • Installs or assists service personnel in installation of hardware and peripheral components, such as monitors, keyboards, printers, disk drives, and other similar or related equipment.
  • Loads specified software packages, such as operating systems, standard applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, etc.
  • Enters commands and observes system functions to verify correct system operation.
  • Instructs users in use of equipment, software, and manuals.
  • Performs network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems.
  • Upgrades network hardware and software components as required.
  • Trains users to use new or modified equipment and processes.
  • Monitors functioning of equipment to ensure systems operate in conformance with specifications.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance on computers, labeling & printing devices, peripherals, etc.
