About The Position

The Department of Engineering, Computer Science, and Applied Mathematics at Eastern Mennonite University (EMU), a private liberal arts institution committed to academic excellence, active faith, and peace and justice, invites applications for a tenure-track or non- tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in August, 2026. EMU’s Engineering program is accredited by the ABET and offers mechanical and computer engineering tracks.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Applicants must have a strong commitment to serving and working within a community of diverse learners.

Nice To Haves

  • College-level teaching and/or post-doctoral experience preferred.
  • A track record of active, inclusive, student-centered teaching is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses in engineering and/or computer science, including introductory and upper-level courses consistent with departmental needs.
  • Maintain an active scholarly agenda that engages undergraduate students.
  • Advise and mentor students, including supervision of research and/or capstone projects.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and program growth.
  • Participate in departmental, university, and professional service.
  • Department and university service is expected in the form of advising and mentoring a diverse student body in the computer science and engineering majors, serving on university committees, and participating in department meetings and departmental development efforts.
