Job Description This is a 60-day temporary position which could lead to a full-time opportunity. Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated individual to join our Mailstar Operations team as a Computer Operator. We have a 3rd shift opening from Monday at 11:00pm to 7:00am, Monday through Saturday. Responsibilities include operating a computer console, peripheral devices, and computer support devices under general supervision. Requirements

  • A high school education and computer operator education or related job experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of computer operations and operating environment for applications programs and operating software desired.
  • Ability to understand and follow complex verbal or written programs.
  • A desire to develop further through internal and external study programs.
  • Must be willing to work an assigned shift.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret console messages from system software and application programs and perform required action
  • Observe ongoing operations and analyzes performance to identify problems and inform appropriate personnel
  • Operate peripheral devices and computer support devices
  • Maintain knowledge about the operating characteristics, maintenance requirements of peripheral devices, computer operating procedures and standards
  • Assist with other duties as assigned within the department or elsewhere on request
