This is professional technical work responsible for the print production and output distribution for the Department of Financial Services. This position may require moving items in excess of 35 or more pounds. Incumbent duties include, but are not limited to: Enter commands and observe system functioning to verify correct operations and detect errors. Confer with staff, users, and management to determine requirements for job scheduling. Observes and maintains data center site security and procedures. Maintains record of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial action taken, and installation activities. Controls workflow for maximum utilization of computer efficiency. Refers major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service. Operates computer peripheral devices and systems. Monitors system performance and capacity requirements. Reads technical manuals, confers with users, and conducts computer diagnostics to determine nature of problems and provide technical assistance. Operates computer output preparation equipment and processes to exact specifications. Assists users to identify and solve data communication problem. Perform other related duties as required. Incumbent of position is a member of DFS’ Disaster Response Team and, in that capacity, may be required on short notice to perform duties and necessary attendant travel in support of disaster relief efforts.)
