About The Position

The Computer Operator III is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining complex computing environments that support cybersecurity tools, enterprise applications, and automated system processes. This role ensures the reliable execution of scheduled workloads, performs advanced error identification and resolution, and provides operational support to maintain system availability, performance, and security. The Computer Operator III works with minimal supervision and exercises independent judgment to resolve non-standard issues and escalate critical problems appropriately.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, Vocational School Diploma, or GED equivalent.
  • Four (4) years of hands-on experience performing:
  • Execution and monitoring of scheduled routines and automated jobs
  • System operations and error diagnosis
  • Troubleshooting machine stoppage or errors that fall outside standard procedures
  • Exercising authority to deviate from standard steps when required and escalating unresolved or critical issues
  • CSWF Certification (IAT Level I):
  • CompTIA A+
  • CompTIA Network+
  • CompTIA Security+
  • GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)
  • Strong understanding of operational workflows, system health monitoring, and error escalation protocols.
  • Ability to work effectively remotely in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite software including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and operate computer systems, cybersecurity tools, batch processes, and automated job schedules to ensure continuous and reliable system performance.
  • Execute, manage, and validate scheduled routines, system jobs, and operational workflows in accordance with established SOPs and security guidelines.
  • Identify, diagnose, and correct routine and advanced error conditions; perform troubleshooting beyond standard procedures and take authorized corrective action when necessary.
  • Document recurring issues, anomalies, and resolutions; escalate complex or system-wide issues to technical leads or engineering teams.
  • Support configuration changes, basic system maintenance, file/data transfers, and operational adjustments as directed.
  • Maintain compliance with operational procedures, information security requirements, and incident response protocols.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams-including cybersecurity, systems engineering, and operations support-to ensure system integrity and timely issue resolution.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement by identifying inefficiencies, documenting best practices, and providing recommendations for operational enhancements.
