This is a Computer Field Technician position focused on hardware repairs and installations for laptop and desktop units. The role involves completing on-site hardware warranty services for customers in a designated territory. It is a 1099/per call position where pay is based on the number of calls completed, starting at $35 and increasing with travel distance. The pay period is every Friday after the first week worked. Tickets are typically run Monday-Friday during the day shift, and candidates must be available a minimum of 3 weekdays. Call volume is variable, usually 2-4 calls per day. The role requires completing Dell and Lenovo certifications during onboarding, which are online and free. Technicians will visit multiple work sites daily, requiring reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. Daily tasks include logging into a tech portal by 9 am to code calls and map routes, confirming service times with customers, picking up parts daily from FedEx or UPS stores, completing services at customer sites (residential and commercial), and dropping off old parts with provided pre-paid labels.
