About The Position

The Computer Technician is responsible for ensuring the security, reliability, and efficiency of the organization’s technology systems by maintaining regulatory compliance, providing daily technical support, and managing hardware, software, and network infrastructure. This includes real-time troubleshooting, after-hours assistance, asset lifecycle management, user account configuration, and documentation of IT activities.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in information technology and/or equivalent technical certifications required.
  • Minimum of two years progressive work experience in information/systems technology
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Products and Internet Browsers
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license, reliable automobile, and proof of automobile insurance
  • Consistent demonstration of attention to detail, precision, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
  • Possess strong prioritization skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks.
  • Ability to utilize general office equipment, software, and must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Structured Query Language (SQL) server experience, preferred
  • Network and database site administration skills preferred
  • SharePoint Portal experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and partner regulations/guidelines concerning information technology and IT security.
  • Daily operational support for technical system problems, both software and hardware?
  • Assist with after-hours and weekend troubleshooting/help desk issues.
  • Maintain computers, phones, broadband devices, and other associated technological equipment for speed, dependability, accessibility, and security.
  • Provide real-time support for user hardware and software needs.
  • Document activities, progress, and issue status in IT support software.
  • Utilize independent judgment, analytical, and problem-solving skills to address support issues.
  • Analyze computer hardware problems, services, and order replacement parts as necessary.
  • Ensure purchases of software and equipment follow the approval procedure and are within budgetary allotment.
  • Perform asset and lifestyle management of workstations, software installation/configuration of IT equipment replacements, and track and validate the current state of assets.
  • Install software, demonstrating its operational usage and troubleshooting when users are faced with problems.
  • Responsible for setup and problem-solving of computer network systems, cabling, and wireless networks.
  • Configure new user and deactivation of accounts through business collaboration software, keycard access, and associated role software (i.e., iTransplant, TransNet, etc.).
  • Ensure proper setup of equipment for web conferences and other events that use computers and their peripherals.
  • Service and maintain computer-related peripherals such as printers, projectors, web cameras, and scanners.
  • Ensure the MIS is aware of the status and issues regarding hardware and software systems.
  • Assist MIS regarding hardware and software systems as directed.
  • Responsible for ensuring backup of all computer files, including facilitating the monthly verification of data recovery and documenting results.
  • Create training and work instructions for users for applications, databases, and various IT procedures.
  • Assist with the ITM inventory destruction according to the IT destruction schedule.
  • Network administration for Active Directory, as well as site administrator for third-party vendors.
  • Maintains new user setup of the SharePoint portal.
  • Assist with the creation and monitoring of departmental goals and key performance indicators.
