About The Position

This role is anticipated to be a six-month assignment. The exact time limit of the assignment may depend on need and workload as well as the understanding that the parties’ at-will relationship may result in either party terminating the relationship at any time. Full-time hours with eligibility for benefits. The role is onsite working out of the Tucson, AZ office. What You Will Be Doing: EMA is seeking a CAD (Computer-Aided Design) technician who can play a crucial role in assisting project teams develop engineering drawings for our municipal water and wastewater clients and help establish and manage our internal AutoCAD standards. Additionally, you will: Manage EMA’s AutoCAD licenses Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate EMA staff on CAD software functionalities, best practices, and techniques to optimize productivity Develop customized CAD objects, including developing custom features, templates, and libraries Collaborate with the controls engineering team to develop AI-driven auto-generation of CAD deliverables (electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams) by identifying standardized patterns across existing project libraries and translating them into repeatable, template-based workflows Stay updated on the latest developments, trends, and advancements in CAD technology to provide informed recommendations and insights to EMA Learning new and additional skills so you can contribute to projects and/or tasks that don’t have a CAD component Who You Are: We’re looking for a technical professional based in Tucson, AZ who takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality design documents that support real-world infrastructure projects. Requirements

  • Associate degree in Computer-Aided Design and 2 years of coursework, internship, or entry-level experience related to CAD.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (AutoCAD Electrical and AutoCAD P&ID experience a plus)
  • A solid understanding of drafting standards, layering, and file organization
  • The ability to interpret engineering markups and apply them accurately
  • Comfortable working within project schedules and deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and responsiveness to feedback
  • Project execution experience is desirable, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and deliver results within budget constraints
  • Experience with electrical and control system designs strongly preferred
