Position Summary We are seeking a physically capable Compost Operations Technician to support our composting facility's daily operations. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training a plus
  • Experience operating water trucks or similar heavy equipment
  • Basic plumbing knowledge and hands-on repair experience
  • Familiarity with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Proven ability to lift and carry heavy materials (50 lbs+)
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting
  • Comfortable working in an environment with organic waste and natural odors

Responsibilities

  • Maintain composting equipment, including water trucks, conveyors, and screening systems
  • Perform manual labor including lifting up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Conduct basic plumbing tasks to maintain irrigation and leachate systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair minor electrical and mechanical issues on-site
  • Use basic computer programs to log data, track inventory, and monitor system performance
  • Assist with facility upkeep, including cleaning, organizing, and maintaining safe work areas
  • Follow safety protocols and environmental regulations at all times
