About The Position

We are seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented Composite Technicians to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the production of USV fiberglass components, using composite infusion processes. You will ensure industry leading quality is achieved through application of the engineered systems, contributing directly to the creation of high-quality, innovative USV’s. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3+ years of experience in lamination or a similar manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including assembly diagrams.
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools used in manufacturing and lamination
  • Basic understanding of infusion processes and safe chemical handling processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work safely.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures to ensure the safety of you and your team.
  • Ensure proper PPE, tools, equipment, and material handling equipment is used correctly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.
  • Properly handle and store components and finished products to prevent damage.
  • Perform accurate and precise mold preparation processes. This is a critical first step in the infusion process and will require very detailed implementation of multi-step chemical processes.
  • Utilize a variety of hand tools (e.g., torque drivers, screwdrivers, rollers), and specialized fixtures and test equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Perform all the steps of loading, bagging and infusing fiberglass parts.
  • The Composite Technicians will be trained on the processes for all fiberglass parts that make up the USV, including hulls, decks, hull bottom structure, and small parts.
  • RTM Lite and other advanced processes will be learned and applied over time.
  • Pattern, Cut and prep fiberglass materials for the fiberglass components.
  • Prepare resins/hardeners for the infusion of components.
  • Conduct in-process quality checks and visual inspections of molds, parts in infusion and finished products to identify defects or deviations from quality standards.
  • Complete ISPC (In-Station Process Control) sheets to record critical process steps and capture critical to quality, critical to safety and productivity results
  • Identify and report any discrepancies, malfunctions, or quality issues to manager or manufacturing engineers.
  • Be a part of new model releases, new process development and continuous improvement as Blue Ops grows.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions aimed at improving processes, efficiency, and product quality.
  • Adhere to all company quality procedures.
