About The Position

Revology Cars is hiring a Composites Technician in Orlando, FL. The Composites Technician is responsible for supporting the Company's in-house composites operation. The composites operation will play an important role in ensuring on-time delivery of high quality, competitively priced composite parts for internal automobile production requirements and external customers. The Company envisions that composites will play an increasingly important role in the construction of its bodies-in-white and to develop the core competency in-house to design and manufacture the parts and the tooling required to make the parts in-house. Work Schedule: The normal work schedule is 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Monday through Friday. However, this position may require work outside of normal business hours due to material cure times and peak workloads driven by uncertainty in processes, materials, and other resources. NOTE: Comprehensive training will be provided

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of experience working with composite materials
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to use, or willingness to learn how to use, an iPad
  • Ability and willingness to learn and follow safety rules and procedures.
  • Willingness and ability to work on any assigned schedule, change shifts periodically, work more than 8 hours per day and/or work overtime, while maintaining good attendance.
  • Ability to perform manual labor, standing and walking much of the time, and with a certain amount of manual dexterity (the ability to pick up, handle, and manipulate tools, parts, and/or materials quickly and accurately).
  • Ability to maneuver into, around, and about vehicles or components on an assembly line. Tasks may require a certain amount of reaching, twisting, and bending.
  • Ability to learn, remember, and maintain pace of steps involved in performing a job after instruction, training, and familiarization with the tasks.
  • Ability and willingness to understand and follow instructions, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to perceive differences in very specific details when inspecting parts or work performed, checking for defects or quality issues, or when distinguishing various parts/components by identification number or code.
  • Ability and willingness to work in a team environment, including helping co-workers, maintaining, and promoting a safe work environment, treating co-workers with dignity and respect regardless of personal differences, and accepting and following instructions and requests from leadership.
  • Ability to work efficiently and consistently with a quality mindset.
  • Ability to safely operate machinery including an industrial oven, vacuum pump, freezer, and forklift

Responsibilities

  • Become an expert in the process of manufacturing composite parts and specifically the use of Gurit Sprint® pre-preg carbon fiber, including:
  • Mold making
  • Handling and cutting of raw materials
  • Parts lay-up
  • Vacuum bagging
  • Oven curing
  • Assembly of carbon fiber bodies-in-white using adhesives
