About The Position

ESAero is seeking a self-motivated Composite Technician to join our team in San Luis Obispo, CA. The composite technician will work with a team of engineers in the fabrication of composites structures. Fabrication includes wet lays and pre-preg with carbon fiber fabrics and resin.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year composites fabrication experience
  • Quick learner, hard-working with skilled hands
  • Basic knowledge of CAD/CAM or similar tools
  • Read CAD drawings, engineering sketches communicate challenges to small engineering teams
  • Excellent work ethic and attendance
  • Understand process methods and sequences
  • Understanding of ply orientations and vacuum bagging processes
  • Able to lift assemblies weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to verbally communicate, read and comprehend written and verbal instructions, and be capable of doing basic mathematical calculations
  • High attention to detail
  • Familiarity with windows based personal computers
  • Must be able to work with a minimum of supervision
  • US Citizenship Required
  • Must present proof of authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to pass background check.

Responsibilities

  • Lay out, assemble, pre-fit and bond carbon composite or laminate fabrications, assemblies, parts, skins or equipment
  • Cut fabric, hand wet lay-up of carbon fiber material
  • Use shop math and measuring instruments
  • Obtain information from prints, charts, sketches, work orders, documents and verbal and electronic information
  • Follow engineering and manufacturing specifications
  • Operate curing ovens to complete curing cycles
  • Sand, burr, smooth, bond and seal
  • Perform rework or repair
  • Perform routine minor machine maintenance
  • Operate ovens to complete bonding cycle
  • Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
