The Composite Technician II will follow engineering and manufacturing specifications to create composite parts. The role will follow the specifications to determine material, temperature and pressure for the parts. The Composite Technician II will operate presses, autoclaves and ovens to complete the production cycle and sand and burr the finished surfaces.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4 years of composite experience
  • Ability to use hand tools such as grinders, files and Dremel’s
  • Ability to follow work instructions and work independently
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to have excellent attendance

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated skill with small hand tools (drills, sanders, grinders)
  • Basic computer and math skills
  • Ability to work overtime as needed including weekends

Responsibilities

  • Mold Preparation
  • Prepreg and wet layup
  • Curing and demolding of composite parts
  • Examining demolded parts for quality and define any defects
  • Obtaining required information from prints, charts, sketches, workorders, documents, verbal communication
  • Using shop mathematics and precision measuring instruments to complete work assignments
  • Verify work performed is per work instruction and meets process and/or engineering specification
  • Routinely move product within manufacturing work area
  • Supporting the continuous flow of product within the manufacturing process
  • Daily cleaning of cleanroom area
