About The Position

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Composite Technician I to join our team in Mobile, AL. Ability to objectively self inspect work, finished parts and components as required. Maintaining written records and work logs in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA); European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Transport Canada (TCAA) requirements. The team at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing facilities help assemble the finest aircraft in the world, along two (soon to be three) production lines for the A220 and A320 Family aircraft. On the shop floor you’ll be surrounded by individuals who are passionate about aviation and skilled in areas like electrical, structure and quality. Join our team and help build the next generation of aircraft. Nearby on ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus’ strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Some form of Technical/Professional/Vocational Training in the Composites field (apprenticeship, institutional training, etc.)
  • Three (3)+ years of hands-on experience with Aerospace or Equivalent Composites(Shipyard, Supplier, Etc.)
  • One (1)+ years of experience in Aerospace (preferred but not required)
  • Proficient in English Language (Ability to read, write and effectively communicate)

Nice To Haves

  • A second language is preferred but not required (French, Spanish, German)

Responsibilities

  • Ability to learn to read and interpret all common and accepted Blueprint/drawings types.
  • Performs composite repairs (as directed) related to molds, wet and prepreg layup, re-work/repair of existing structures.
  • Self-Inspects Parts and Components where applicable.
  • Ability to use all related measuring devices/tools to ensure adherence to requested part/component documentation.
  • Adherence to various policies regarding accurate recording of completed work and work-in-progress.
  • Housekeeping, Assistance with lifting/pushing/pulling, etc.
  • Maintain acceptable/normal levels of On-hand stock quantities.
