About The Position

If you enjoy working with cutting-edge materials and precision machinery, this role is for you. As a Composites Technician at Centrus Energy, you’ll help manufacture high-performance composite components using advanced filament winding technology. From resin mixing to precision winding and machine tuning, you’ll play a hands-on role in producing mission-critical parts that demand exceptional quality, consistency, and attention to detail—all while supporting a carbon-free energy future. You’ll operate, monitor, and maintain filament winding machines that coat and wind composite filaments under precise tension to produce cylindrical components. This includes setting machine parameters, handling and mixing resins, cutting finished tubes to specification, following detailed work instructions, and performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting to keep equipment running smoothly. Every day, you’ll balance craftsmanship, safety, and process discipline to deliver high-quality composite products with minimal downtime.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • 5+ years of production experience in a nuclear, chemical, or manufacturing environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with precision machinery
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, overtime, and travel for training as needed
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a “Q” level security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience processing carbon fiber composite parts (highly desired, but not required)
  • Hands-on experience with filament winding, composite materials, or resin systems
  • A passion for precision craftsmanship and process discipline
  • Possesses a current “Q” level security clearance.
