The Component Estimator plays a critical role in supporting Central States’ sales team by producing accurate, detailed estimates, and takeoffs for metal roofing and siding systems. You will interpret construction drawings, scope projects, and create comprehensive component lists to ensure timely and precise proposals. This role combines technical expertise, construction knowledge, and strong communication skills to support both internal teams and external customers while maintaining the highest standards of quality and accuracy. Core Functions: Prepare detailed takeoffs, layouts using estimating software such as TopView, AppliCad X. Support the sales team with accurate and comprehensive component lists to facilitate proposals and project planning. Interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and project specifications to determine material scope and fitment for Central States’ products. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external customers to clarify project details, scope, and limitations. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are consistently met. Provide timely updates on project status, scheduling, and any design or estimation discrepancies. Learn and utilize additional software tools to support Engineering, Marketing, Product Management, and other company initiatives. Identify opportunities for cost optimization and recommend solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy.
