About The Position

We are seeking a Component Assembler Tube/Tester (2nd Shift) to join our federal team at our York, PA plant. We're keeping the Navy cool. Literally. The primary mission of our Johnson Controls Navy Systems team is to supply large chilled water HVAC and refrigeration systems to the US Navy and US Coast Guard. This job consists of performing operations required to lay out, assemble, erect, lead check, perform air run, oil and air pressure test, vacuum test system and repair direct drive power generation sources to compressors. Assemble, repair tubing, piping and fittings of engineered production systems. Requirements

  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and general drawing arrangements
  • Ability to read and interpret measuring tape accurately to measure and cut materials
  • Ability to apply measuring specifications to equipment and products
  • Knowledge of hand tools.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to maintain clean and safe work area and/or equipment

Responsibilities

  • Working from isometric drawings, orders, process sheets, specifications, instructions.
  • Layout, determine route of piping and tubing, location and type of supports, measure, cut to length; flare, thread.
  • Assemble, level, connect, braze fittings, controls, components.
  • Check operation of oil filters, oil drain, diagnose problems, repair, replace components.
  • Assemble valves, oil filters, pumps, lubricating devices, covers, gaskets, pressure control panels.
  • Erect motor drives, layout, locate holes, position components, determine, maintain clearances, level, align, drill and tap flange connections.
  • Fit tapered pins and keys, shrink rotors on shaft.
  • Charge systems with refrigerant and air, leak check, repair leaks.
