American Flexible Products maintains ITAR-compliant operations. Due to ITAR regulations, this role is only open to U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents (green card holders) or foreign nationals granted refugee or asylee status. Individuals with temporary visas (e.g. E, F-1, H-1, H-2, L, B, J, TN or OPT) are not eligible for hire in this role. Our Compliance Technician responds to customer inquiry's related to material properties, our company’s policies, procedures, and processes that ensure compliance to the relevant international, federal, and state regulations. They will understand directives such as RoHS, REACH, TSCA, Prop 65 and required reporting such as Conflict Minerals and reporting to Environmental and Social Responsibility programs. This role is responsible for researching and documenting regulatory compliance information based on customer requirements. The successful candidate will possess a trained eye for detail and will be reliable and committed to ensure that customer specifications requests are being met and necessary documentation is submitted accurately and in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work within strict deadlines with the capability to work on multiple projects accurately and efficiently
  • Team player who is self-motivated, a fast learner, and shows initiative to seek out knowledge needed to meet customer needs
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and make decisions and solve moderate level problems independently, effectively, and creatively
  • High School Diploma/GED Required
  • Working knowledge of relevant international, federal, and state environmental regulations and directives (e.g., REACH, RoHS, TSCA, Prop 65)
  • Must be able to communicate (read, write, and speak) fluently in English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff.
  • This position requires mostly stationary, desk top functions with long periods of time viewing computer screens and small motor movements Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • This role in onsite and not eligible to work remotely.
  • This position will be located in the corporate office environment but will spend time in the manufacturing environment.
  • The work area in the production environment includes exposure to noise, moving machinery and a temperature-controlled environment.
  • The noise level in that work area is usually moderate.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years in Compliance Role preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft office suite and ERP systems preferred.
  • Epicor experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and adhere to procedures/processes that continuously improve our compliance program
  • Monitor the Product Compliance inbox and efficiently respond to all internal and external requests
  • Oversee our compliance statuses and declarations of raw materials / customer part requests in online Portal(s)
  • Maintain Product Compliance Declarations and ensure they are available to customers as required
  • Ensures compliance documentation is complete and accurate
  • Research and maintain applicable regulatory standards such as REACH, RoHS, TSCA Prop65 and Conflict Mineral reporting
  • Catalog all regulatory data received and dispersed to customer
  • Stay informed on new & changing directives/regulations as they pertain to AFP and any global standard we need to comply with for AS9100 and keep the team informed of any potential business impact
  • Assist with miscellaneous compliance or quality tasks
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or needed
