About The Position

The Compliance Specialist ensures Spectra Health complies with regulatory requirements and internal policies. The Compliance Specialist works with Executive and Senior leadership to implement and maintain Spectra Health's compliance program, conducting regular audits, and advising leadership on potential risks. This position requires strong analytical skills, in-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, and the ability to foster a culture of compliance across the organization. The Compliance Specialist reports to the Chief Strategy Officer.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in an appropriate field
  • Experience in quality improvement systems
  • Experience in health care environment
  • Strong verbal communication and writing skills
  • Experience problem solving on an organizational level

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field.
  • Previous experience in nursing management, quality improvement, or referral management.
  • 5-7 years healthcare experience in operational management.
  • Experience in enterprise compliance systems

Responsibilities

  • Functions as Spectra Health's Compliance Officer, overseeing the compliance program for Spectra Health, including responding to employee compliance concerns, as needed.
  • Manages privileging and credentialing for the organization, including Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) tracking and reporting. Works in collaboration with the Risk Manager to ensure FTCA program compliance.
  • Responsible for collecting and maintaining employee and Board of Directors Conflict of Interest statements.
  • Utilizes current systems, i.e. EPIC, Azara, Compliatric for the collection and compilation of data for use in UDS reporting and the monitoring of progress of organizational goals.
  • Conducts routine and random internal audits, as needed, of Spectra systems, both tangible and electronic, to make sure these systems are functioning properly.
  • Assists with creating and maintaining the Spectra Health Emergency Preparedness Plan.
  • Assists with safety and process improvement initiatives as appropriate.
  • Performs routine 340B program compliance audits; is a member of Spectra's internal 340B committee.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Chief Strategy Officer.
