THE ROLE The purpose of a Compliance Specialist in client reporting is to ensure the organization adheres to all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards while maintaining transparency and trust with clients and regulatory bodies. They play a key role in preparing accurate and timely reports, mitigating compliance risks, and supporting the organization in avoiding legal or financial penalties. By ensuring compliance, they help safeguard the organization's reputation and foster strong client relationships. However, this position additionally works with other colleagues within the Compliance team on preparing, reviewing, and submitting accurate reports to regulatory bodies within required deadlines.

Requirements

  • 5+ years relevant experience from investment management, financial services, or industry related.
  • Compliance experience.
  • Knowledge of regulatory rules such as 40 Act.
  • 1+ years of experience in using Systems/Data related to Compliance.
  • 1+ years in Compliance Reporting functions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, customer service, team-working and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to write effectively, and present research, analysis, and conclusions.
  • Proven experience with Compliance technology/systems.
  • Client reporting/Corporate Compliance reporting functional knowledge.
  • Proven ability to develop and foster strong interpersonal relationships and to maintain effective cross-functional teams throughout the organization.
  • Strong attention to detail is essential.
  • Good business judgment and the ability to handle challenges while maintaining a professional approach to problem solving.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Some experience in basic data analysis (Excel, Tableau, PowerBI).
  • Finance and Compliance functions knowledge.
  • Good understanding of reporting and regulatory framework.
  • Ability to analyze data and complex reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Compliance Reporting Team with periodic tasks that pertain to, but not limited to, the Company Client Reporting and Corporate Compliance Reporting.
  • Understand assigned materials for use across their region to ensure compliance with all applicable local regulations as well as to ensure consistency with the prospectus, offering memorandum, IMA, or MFS policies, as applicable.
  • Review numerous clients' investment guidelines and regulatory restrictions on trading systems and complete client reporting requests pursuant to them.
  • Using analytical skills, research skills, and teamwork to gain knowledge of reporting requirements relating to investment and corporate compliance for both US and non-US jurisdictions.
  • Respond to requests for assistance from the business and work with relevant colleagues within the wider Compliance team to provide required Compliance reporting support.
  • Assist in any other reporting tasks (i.e. management reporting, regulatory reporting) and ad-hoc tasks and projects as required.
