About The Position

The Compliance & Risk Consultant, Expert serves as a strategic leader and subject matter expert, driving excellence in regulatory data response and quality control processes. This role flexes between Support Desk and Quality Control functions, championing enterprise-level initiatives, advising leadership, and implementing advanced process improvements. The Expert ensures PG&E meets regulatory obligations with accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality while fostering a culture of compliance and continuous improvement. PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 7 years of relevant experience

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise in records management, confidentiality protocols, approval standards, and lifecycle governance.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and compliance tracking tools (e.g., DRU Tracker/Power Apps, RMA); ability to translate record structures into data usable by visualization/reporting teams.
  • Deep familiarity with CPUC/OEIS requirements and PG&E compliance frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to seek clarity quickly and align assignments across multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience partnering with visual management/reporting teams (e.g., VM&IS) to define data models, logging rules, and refresh cadences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and champion enterprise-level initiatives to improve data response processes, quality control frameworks, and compliance strategies.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership and cross-functional teams, providing guidance on regulatory standards, confidentiality protocols, and risk mitigation.
  • Design and implement advanced process improvements, leveraging Lean Six Sigma or similar methodologies to drive efficiency and accuracy.
  • Oversee complex data request reviews and approvals, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
  • Develop and maintain governance tools, quality metrics, and reporting dashboards to monitor performance and identify trends.
  • Conduct root cause analyses and present data-driven recommendations to senior leadership for continuous improvement.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership to drive strategic decisions.
  • Mentor team members and build capability across the organization, fostering a culture of compliance excellence and innovation.
