About The Position

Responsible for ensuring program compliance with multi-family housing programs and Federal requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • 3-5 years of progressive compliance experience with federal program(s).
  • Experience with compliance regulations for Federal multi-family housing programs, such as but not limited to, LIHTC, HUD Project Based Section 8, HUD Project Based vouchers, and HOME.
  • Must have solid customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computers, a working knowledge of the MS Office Suite of software, and the ability to use a broad range of job-related software including presentation applications.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License in the state of residence.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate through listening, transmitting information accurately and effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend the English language.
  • Some travel may be required.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of experience with Yardi Voyager preferred.
  • Fluent in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop programs and assist with initiatives to improve the compliance performance of the portfolio.
  • Coordinate preparation for external audits, develop responses to adverse findings, and ensure reviews are closed timely.
  • Coordinate and complete HAP voucher processing, reconcile voucher, and execute related procedures.
  • Research and resolve HAP discrepancies.
  • Coordinate and complete gross rent changes.
  • Review TRACS monitoring reports and resolve associated issues.
  • Comply with Federal, State, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforce adherence to requirements; advise management on needed actions.
  • Provide compliance program direction to others breaking down information in a systematic/logical manner. Answer questions and respond to requests within the service level agreement requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and update standards, resources, and procedures related to the compliance functions of the department and portfolio ensuring compliance with housing programs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve occurrences of non-compliance.
  • Coordinate and conduct internal audits. Utilize tracking system to monitor deficiencies, identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Develop relationships with all regulatory personnel and maintain effective partnerships.
  • Complete and submit, timely and accurately, all records, reports and documents required by the Company.
  • Execute routine compliance administrative responsibilities as assigned.
