We’re looking for a talented Product Compliance Engineer II to join our Engineering Team. In this role, you’ll ensure our products meet all relevant regulations and standards while helping strengthen our internal compliance processes. You’ll report directly to the Director of Electrical & Software Engineering and work onsite in Bellevue, WA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Material Sciences, Electrical Engineering or related field is required with a 4+ years of experience in a compliance engineering role or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge of applicable safety, EMC and quality standards
  • Must have experience working with third party test labs.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer direct hands on testing experience with sensing/instrumentation products.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage regulatory testing programs (CE, UL, etc.)
  • Provide technical compliance analysis and recommendations to Engineering and other departments related to the design, testing, development, performance and maintenance of Sea-Bird products.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance over the product lifecycle, including Engineering Change Order (ECO) assessment, recertification planning, and audit support.
  • Partner with agencies to secure and maintain product certifications, including witness testing
  • Manage substance compliance initiatives (REACH, RoHS, WEEE, Prop 65, etc.)
  • Establish and maintain design guidelines to prevent compliance issues early in development
  • Create and maintain compliance documentation (CE technical files, product markings, etc.)
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, and Manufacturing to integrate regulatory requirements
  • Verify and track Material Content Declaration documentation
  • Maintain the product compliance documentation archive
  • Coordinate with the Water Quality Strategic Compliance Team on standards, trends, and training
  • Work with 3rd‑party test facilities to validate products
  • Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure EMC/EMI mitigations
  • Troubleshoot EMC issues, especially at the PCB level
  • Review CAD models for EMC and product safety compliance
