About The Position

This Compliance and BSA Specialist is responsible for supporting the implementation of the Bank's comprehensive Compliance Management System, including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements. Key responsibilities include monitoring adherence to federal and state laws and regulations, conducting research to address inquiries from teammates, assisting with investigations, and identifying monitoring exceptions and data integrity errors. Additionally, the specialist will assist in implementing a training program to educate Bank team members on applicable laws, regulations, and their compliance responsibilities. All duties must be performed in alignment with banking laws and regulations governing deposits, operations, and lending. In addition, our FIRST Values apply to all teammates without exception. Requirements

  • Secondary education in related field required.
  • Three or more years or more of relevant work experience or a combination of education/experience that would enable incumbent to meet accountabilities and required competencies of the position.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Self-motivated.

  • Ability to conduct relationships in a manner that ensures cooperation and positive results.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Compliance in financial institution(s) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implementation of Risk Systems & Programs
  • Assist with execution of Compliance and BSA/AML monitoring and training programs.
  • Assist with implementation of Compliance and BSA/AML education.
  • Complete assigned monitoring reviews of compliance with laws and regulations, including Regulation Z, Regulation B, Flood, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Military Lending Act, Regulation E, Customer Identification Program and Beneficial Ownership, by reviewing loan, deposit and operations activities across the organization.
  • Assess appropriate corrective action and/or documentation for exceptions identified.
  • Prepare reports on results.
  • Complete assigned data integrity reviews for regulatory reporting requirements, including HMDA and CRA.
  • Assist with the execution of BSA/AML processes, including Currency Transaction Reports, Currency Transaction Logs, CTR Exemptions, OFAC, FinCEN 314(a) Information Requests, High Risk Customer processes, and OCC Money Laundering Risk System.
  • Complete assigned Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) processes, including researching and documenting information for SAR investigations and alerts on AML software.
  • Conduct small group or one on one trainings for Bank teammates and management on Compliance and BSA/AML topics as directed.
  • May assist with special projects and/or other duties related to Compliance or BSA/AML.
  • Act as a partner, consultant, and subject matter expert within the scope of work responsibilities, assignments, and projects.
  • Consult and partner with Bank teammates and management as assigned on regulatory risk, requirements and solutions to support products, services and initiatives.
  • Answer questions from Bank management and teammates and/or consult appropriate resources as needed.
  • Communicate through various methods and work collaboratively with external consultants and regulatory agencies to research as directed.
