About The Position

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Remote Compliance and Audit Coordinator to join our team. Position Summary: The Compliance & Audit Coordinator supports the enterprise compliance and audit functions through high reliability administrative support and hands-on execution of audit preparation activities, including structured manual data collection for compliance and audit projects. The Coordinator facilitates the timely retrieval, organization, and documentation of medical records and supporting materials for internal audits and monitoring activities. This role requires strong judgment, discretion, and the ability to manage sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies. The coordinator also supports the Compliance Department by maintaining organized electronic filing systems and standardized templates, and by coordinating departmental calendars and logistics.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (Bachelor’s preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare, compliance, audit support, legal operations, HIM/medical records, or highcomplexity administrative support.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines, coordinate across teams, and maintain high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and comfort working in shared document environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with medical records workflows (EHR access, ROI requests, chart compilation) or audit request fulfillment.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA privacy concepts and handling PHI.
  • Experience supporting compliance, privacy, internal audit, or regulatory readiness functions.
  • Excellent organization and follow-through; strong task prioritization.
  • Clear written communication; ability to summarize status succinctly.
  • Discretion and mature judgment handling confidential information.
  • Comfortable with structured, repetitive data gathering while maintaining accuracy and audit defensibility.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structured manual data collection and validation (e.g., tracking logs, spreadsheets, request lists) to support our risk-based internal monitoring plan and audit activities.
  • Retrieve, compile, and organize medical records and supporting documentation to support audit activities, under the direction of Compliance leadership.
  • Prepare, format, and proofread compliance and audit materials for internal leadership, Board committees, and, as applicable, external authorities.
  • Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate logistics for Compliance leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Prepare agendas, meeting materials, and supporting documentation, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and version control.
  • Maintain organized electronic filing systems for compliance records, templates, and audit materials to support audit defensibility and efficient retrieval.
  • Compile routine metrics, status updates, and summaries for Compliance leadership to support reporting and oversight.
