Healthcare practices must make decisions based on potential compliance and privacy issues every day. Those decisions are based on support from Compliance & Privacy Specialists who can accurately oversee and report on privacy issues and concerns. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Oversee implementation of and adherence to FA policies on patient privacy, confidentiality, and use and disclosure of Protected Health Information (PHI). Oversee patient privacy investigations, disputes, and requests for changes to patient medical records, and ensure the right of patients to inspect, amend, and restrict access to PHI, when appropriate. Work closely with health information services, information services and marketing on matters related to PHI. Monitor that record custodians correctly protect and archive patient records and PHI. Participate with outside healthcare organization programs to stay informed on privacy developments and “best practices” for protecting patient PHI. Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls designed to help prevent and/or detect significant issues or patterns of potential legal or ethical violations. Assist in developing and revising the FPN Compliance Plan to target areas of concern to regulatory bodies and issues identified.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Nursing, Management or a healthcare related field
  • within one year Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) - Compliance Certification Board
