General Summary: This position oversees all compliance, regulatory, financial and system reconciliations and implementation aspects of sales contracts and compensation. Acting as an advisor on major business opportunities, the role involves providing coaching, mentoring, and training in contracts and compensation. Additionally, it manages large and complex implementations, handles internal and external customer relationships, serves as the escalation point for significant issues, and leads business reviews and project status meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field or 5+ years of relevant experience is required.
  • Excellent problem solving, decision-making, and analysis skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to negotiate and interact with all levels of the sales force and home office employees including senior management.
  • Consults with business leaders to translate a project idea into a defined project with goals, objectives and scope.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Colonial Life sales organization and sales compensation programs required.
  • High degree of familiarity with Colonial Life information systems required.
  • Project management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for internal and external customers to negotiate, coordinate and execute solutions while considering exposure to potential risk for Sales Contracts and Compensation.
  • Communicate with team members, management and business stakeholders on status, service level analysis, issues, risk and objectives relating to compensation and contracts.
  • Collaborate with IT project resources and business leaders to develop and execute project plans for multiple complex projects, to identify problems and determine solutions.
  • Capability to effectively manage both quality and productivity expectations
  • Represent the functional areas on cross functional projects. This can include subject matter expert consulting, implementation and testing coordination.
  • Delivers results for mid to large-size project initiatives within established timeframes and quality measures.
  • Apply robust project management skills and adhere to the corporate standard system development methodology (or other relevant industry methodologies) to oversee assigned projects.
  • Proactively identify concern areas and take decisive action, considering the impact to both the customer and the company.
  • Understand current marketplace trends and how our business can adapt to ensure we remain competitive and compliant.
  • Facilitates mentoring, coaching, and development support to Sales Compensation, Sales Contracts and peers.
  • Accountable for the identification, analysis and communication of legislative and regulatory changes impacting the department.
  • Represent the company and serve as an expert with respect to compliance matters to regulatory agencies in regard to 1099 reporting, broker of record practices and other compensation matters.
  • Ensure adherence to federal and state regulations related to 1099 reporting and federal withholding requirements.
  • Ensure financial and system balancing reconciliations complies with internal audit and regulatory requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
