Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree required.
Adjuster licensing required.
Minimum of 10 years of experience adjusting bodily injury claims.
Experience in adjusting commercial auto claims required.
Advanced knowledge of insurance and tort law, legal principles, and medical terminology.
Proficiency in insurance coverage and claims processes.
Intermediate computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and email.

Nice To Haves

Professional insurance designation preferred.
Preferred experience in adjusting transportation (trucking) liability claims.

Responsibilities

Verify coverage and coverage primacy for new losses.
Adjust complex claims with significant exposure, including investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and resolution within authority levels.
Evaluate and implement solutions for problematic files.
Collaborate with internal teams on complex coverage issues and claims resolution.
Manage and oversee independent adjusters and attorneys, including those defending insured parties.
Represent the company at mediations and trials.
Communicate professionally with insured parties, claimants, agents, attorneys, and reinsurers.
Establish and maintain reserves, providing consistent updates to management.
Assist in developing technical knowledge within the department.
Serve as a resource for team members and assist in training new employees as assigned.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
