Competitive Intelligence Lead

AutodeskDenver, CO
1d$91,000 - $163,350

About The Position

The Autodesk Portfolio Competitive Intelligence team exists to drive meaningful business impact across the company. We closely monitor relevant markets to anticipate change and avoid surprise, develop actionable competitive resources that empower customer‑facing teams, and analyze win/loss insights to capture authentic customer sentiment. Most importantly, we build strong partnerships across our Go‑To‑Market (GTM) organizations to foster a culture of competition and informed decision‑making at Autodesk. We’re seeking a motivated, creative, and entrepreneurial leader to own competitive intelligence for Autodesk’s Design & Manufacturing (D&M) business. This role offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact by taking end‑to-end ownership of competitive battlecards and enablement materials, producing regular competitive intelligence digests, managing a robust win/loss program, and delivering ad hoc research to support strategic priorities. The ideal candidate is scrappy, proactive, and energized by turning insights into action.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Competitive Intelligence, Market Intelligence, Product Marketing, B2B SaaS Sales, Sales Enablement, Business Consulting, Business Strategy, or related fields
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. You’ll regularly produce reports, newsletters, competitive updates, and present insights to a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leaders
  • Demonstrated experience using a broad range of legal and ethical data sources, including generative AI tools, Klue, social media, financial reports, and open‑source research methods to answer complex business questions
  • Proven track record of collaborating across diverse teams. As a CI Lead, you’ll partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Product, with each day bringing new challenges and priorities
  • Experience leading research initiatives end‑to-end—from project kickoff through delivery—across varying levels of scope and complexity. You’re comfortable assessing feasibility, prioritizing requests, and balancing commitments
  • Strong time and project management skills, with the ability to juggle competing priorities and multiple deadlines. You’re comfortable owning your bandwidth and confidently saying “no” when needed
  • Intellectually curious and eager to learn. You don’t need to have all the answers—but you do need the drive to find them
  • Willingness to travel approximately once per quarter for Autodesk and industry events. These experiences will help you gather insights, engage with Autodeskers and customers, and deepen your competitive perspective
  • Your unique strengths matter. Whether it’s AI expertise, financial acumen, visual storytelling, or another complementary skill set, we’re excited about candidates who bring something new to elevate the team

Nice To Haves

  • Self‑starter who is comfortable taking full ownership of the role. You approach your work like a small business—building, evolving, and scaling it over time
  • Prior experience in a B2B SaaS environment. Bonus points for exposure to the Design & Manufacturing industry and/or familiarity with Autodesk’s offerings in this space
  • Proven track record of developing effective messaging, enablement collateral, and training materials for customer‑facing teams
  • Comfortable conducting interviews with both internal stakeholders (Autodeskers) and external audiences, including customers
  • Competitive by nature. You’re energized by helping Autodesk navigate a rapidly evolving competitive landscape and excited to play a critical role in that effort

Responsibilities

  • You’ll lead CI efforts for our Design & Manufacturing (D&M) business but may be asked to support other industries (AECO, M&E) as needed
  • Build and own relationships with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Product and Strategy teams, becoming their go-to-POC for competitive insights
  • Build and maintain actionable and effective materials to support competitive sales cycles including battlecards, competitor profiles, talk tracks, newsletters, and customer-facing assets
  • Own our active win/loss program for D&M - using external interviews with customers as well as internal CRM data - and performing analysis to determine why it matters, what it means for your stakeholders and helping to influence GTM strategy
  • Scope and execute ad-hoc and formal CI research requests from a variety of stakeholders to support product development, or other business initiatives
  • Use collaboration platforms such as Slack and Microsoft Teams as primary channels to collect, synthesize, and share competitive insights with cross‑functional teams
  • Leverage competitive and market intelligence platforms (e.g., Klue, Crayon, or similar tools) to track competitors, curate insights, and enable customer‑facing teams
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue teams by working within enterprise systems such as Salesforce, Gong, Clari, Airtable, and related tools to surface competitive signals and inform strategy
  • Plan and conduct win/loss interviews and analysis in both structured and ad hoc settings, translating findings into actionable recommendations
  • Design and execute market research initiatives using tools such as Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, or equivalent platforms to gather and analyze customer and market insights
