About The Position

We're seeking an experienced Compensation Systems and Infrastructure professional to lead the implementation and optimization of our compensation technology infrastructure. You'll be responsible for evaluating, implementing, and integrating compensation systems, building scalable processes from the ground up, and driving strategic enhancements that support our rapid growth. This is a high-impact individual contributor role for someone who thrives on building and transforming compensation technology ecosystems.

Requirements

  • Have 6-8 years of experience in compensation, with at least 3 years leading compensation systems implementations and analytics
  • Have successfully implemented compensation planning platforms from scratch (e.g., Workday Compensation, Pave, or equivalent)
  • Have experience partnering with technical teams (engineering, data analytics) to design and implement systems solutions
  • Have advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data modeling
  • Have excellent project management skills with experience leading cross-functional projects, and the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and partner effectively with engineering teams
  • Have experience with change management and driving user adoption of new systems
  • Have exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • We require at least a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Build and run the systems, tools, and processes that power compensation at Anthropic, partnering with People Systems, People Analytics and People Products teams to design technical solutions and implement scalable infrastructure
  • Lead full-cycle implementations of compensation management systems, from vendor selection and requirements gathering through deployment, integration, and adoption across HRIS, compensation planning, and equity management platforms
  • Design and architect scalable compensation system infrastructure from scratch, including data models, workflows, approval chains, and integrations that support organizational growth from startup to scale
  • Partner with Compensation, People Systems, People Analytics and People Products teams to translate compensation requirements into technical specifications, ensuring our tools and systems are purpose-built to support our unique needs
  • Own the technical execution of annual compensation cycles and off-cycle changes, ensuring accurate data flows, building planning templates and dashboards, and partnering with Finance to validate budgets
  • Own compensation metrics strategy in partnership with People Analytics team, defining key performance indicators, building executive dashboards, and delivering insights that inform compensation philosophy and budget planning
  • Develop and maintain compensation heatmaps and analytical tools that enable data-driven decision-making on market competitiveness and compensation trends
  • Transform manual compensation processes into automated, system-driven solutions through continuous optimization, change management, and adoption of new technologies
  • Create enablement and governance frameworks that enable self-service and ensure consistent system usage across the organization
  • Explore and implement innovative ways to incorporate Claude into compensation programs and tools, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, improve employee experience, and unlock new capabilities
