The Compensation Intern supports the Human Resources Compensation team across multiple employee populations, including hourly, salaried, and incentive-eligible roles within a manufacturing organization. This role focuses on developing, documenting, and maintaining compensation-related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) while providing analytical support for job evaluation, market pricing, pay administration, and incentive programs. The internship offers hands-on exposure to compensation governance, incentive design, pay practices, and HR analytics in a dynamic business environment. Highlights of your role Compensation SOP Development & Documentation (Primary Focus) Partner with Compensation team members to document end-to-end compensation processes across various roles and functions, including: Job evaluation and job leveling Market pricing and survey participation Pay range creation and maintenance Merit, promotional, and off cycle pay changes Incentive compensation programs (e.g., sales incentives, bonuses, premiums) Create clear, standardized SOPs and reference materials, including: Process maps and decision trees Roles and responsibilities (HR, Managers, Payroll, Sales Leadership) Required approvals and internal controls Data sources, tools, and documentation standards Review existing compensation documentation to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for standardization across business units and locations Help ensure SOPs support internal equity, compliance, audit readiness, and operational efficiency Compensation Analysis & Support Assist with market pricing for a variety of roles, including operational, professional, and sales positions, using compensation survey data Support job description reviews to ensure alignment with work performed, pay structures, and exemption status Perform basic compensation analyses (e.g., compa-ratios, range penetration, incentive attainment summaries, pay equity analyses) under guidance Help maintain compensation data files, tracking tools, and documentation with a high level of accuracy Support annual and ad hoc compensation processes such as merit planning, incentive reviews, and structure updates Collaboration & Communication Work closely with HR Business Partners, Payroll, Finance, Sales Operations, and business leaders to understand compensation and incentive practices Assist in preparing reference guides, job aids, and training materials related to compensation and incentive programs Support the Compensation team in responding to internal inquiries by referencing documented SOPs and guidelines You're a good fit if you have (or if you can) Pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Strong analytical skills We invite you to See Yourself at Marvin From people to products, Marvin is committed to creating better ways of living.
