Position Summary The Manager of Compensation and Benefits is responsible for the execution, administration, and ongoing enhancement of compensation and benefits programs supporting a multi‑site workforce across the U.S. and Canada. This role requires a strong blend of hands‑on compensation expertise and benefits administration experience, with a focus on supporting hourly, salaried, and field‑based employees. The Manager partners closely with HR, Finance, and external vendors to ensure programs are competitive, compliant, and aligned with business and workforce needs. This role reports to senior HR leadership and serves as a key subject matter expert for compensation and benefits matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in compensation, benefits, or total rewards.
  • Strong hands‑on experience supporting hourly and multi‑site workforces.
  • Working knowledge of compensation administration, job pricing, and benefits programs in compliance‑driven environments.
  • Ability to partner cross‑functionally with HR, Finance, Operations, and external vendors.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing, construction, or similar operational environments.
  • Professional certifications such as CCP, CBP, or CEBS.
  • Experience supporting union or prevailing‑wage environments.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support company‑wide compensation programs for hourly, salaried, supervisory, and leadership roles across manufacturing, construction, and corporate functions.
  • Maintain job architecture, job leveling, and market pricing frameworks in alignment with skilled trades, production, engineering, and field operations roles.
  • Support annual wage, merit, and incentive processes, including data preparation, analysis, and execution.
  • Conduct market benchmarking, internal equity analyses, and pay reviews to support fair and competitive compensation practices.
  • Partner with HR and Finance to support compensation planning, budget alignment, and workforce planning activities.
  • Provide guidance on compensation practices related to union environments, prevailing wage considerations, and applicable regulations.
  • Assist with pay transparency and compliance initiatives as required.
  • Manage day‑to‑day administration of benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, retirement, wellness, disability, and leave programs.
  • Coordinate vendor relationships, renewals, and enrollment processes in partnership with brokers and external providers.
  • Support benefits compliance activities, including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, and state-specific requirements.
  • Partner with HR and site leadership to improve benefits communication, understanding, and employee engagement-especially for plant and field‑based employees.
  • Assist with open enrollment planning, execution, and employee education efforts.
  • Prepare compensation and benefits reports to support leadership decision‑making.
  • Support change management and communication efforts related to compensation cycles, benefits changes, and organizational growth.
  • Monitor external market trends in manufacturing, construction, and skilled‑trades labor markets to inform recommendations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to Total Rewards processes, tools, and systems.
