We are seeking a dependable and self-directed caregiver to support an independent older adult living at home in a rural setting. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, cooking, and helping maintain a clean, comfortable home environment.

Requirements

• Reliable and consistent — shows up on time, every shift
• Strong cooking skills (simple, hearty meals — “meat and potatoes” style)
• Comfortable working independently in a rural home setting
• Confident managing light structure without constant direction
• Comfortable with dogs, cats and horses (multiple friendly animals onsite)
• Able to navigate a property with gates and outdoor access requirements
• Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting and eager to learn
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without accommodations
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation every day
• Compassionate, supportive, and dependable
• Minimum 1 year experience in healthcare, in-home care, hospitality, or similar people-facing roles
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Takes pride in delivering high-quality, companionship-first care

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals during shifts and batch meals for days when you are not onsite
• Perform light housekeeping (kitchen, bathroom, living areas, laundry)
• Provide meaningful companionship and conversation
• Encourage regular showering (2–3x/week) and daily routines
• Support light exercise by encouraging walking
• Occasionally assist with transportation to appointments if needed
