Empowered Services is a One-on-One Attendant Care agency, providing ADL (Activities of Daily Living) and Community Supports for our customers in their own homes. We strive to inspire & support the unique individuals and families that we serve. To empower them to participate in their communities & live their best lives. Job Summary & Description: Empowered Services is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Portland area. DSPs help customers live independently by assisting with daily activities, community outings, and personal goals. In this role, you will build meaningful relationships that inspire confidence, promote independence, and support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living fulfilling, joyful lives. As a DSP, you will work one-on-one with each customer to understand their unique needs, support them in achieving their goals, and provide care in a positive, encouraging, and safe environment. Our DSPs serve not only as caregivers but also as mentors, advocates, and trusted companions for the individuals we support. 053: This customer values consistency, clear communication, and mutual respect. This is a meaningful opportunity to build a strong, professional relationship while supporting someone who is motivated to grow, gain independence, and work toward long-term goals such as employment and financial stability. The ideal provider will be someone who communicates clearly and proactively, especially when it comes to any changes in plans or scheduling. Consistency and transparency are extremely important in this role, as unexpected changes can be challenging. A provider who takes the time to actively listen, engage respectfully, and treat this individual as an informed adult will be the best fit. This individual benefits from structure and routine, while also needing support navigating flexibility in day-to-day life. Providers should be adaptable, but also confident in maintaining clear and professional boundaries. At times, there may be requests for schedule changes or communication outside of working hours, so it is important that the DSP can kindly and consistently reinforce established expectations. Maintaining these boundaries is key to building a healthy, sustainable working relationship. Providers should also be detail-oriented and mindful in their documentation, ensuring that all communication and interactions are accurately recorded. This helps support accountability and ensures the best outcomes for everyone involved. In this role, you will support engagement in the community, encourage participation in meaningful and budget-friendly activities, and help build daily structure that promotes independence and stability. You will play an important part in empowering this individual to reach personal goals while creating a supportive and respectful environment. We are looking for someone who is flexible, proactive, and attentive; someone who can provide consistent support while also fostering independence and confidence. If you are someone who values communication, respect, and making a lasting impact, we would love to hear from you. Schedule: Monday - Thursday 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. (Tuesday - Friday if preferred, Saturdays if desired).
