About The Position

We’re looking for a Community Work Incentives Coordinator (CWIC) who’s passionate about helping others succeed and ready to make a real difference across Washington State. As a CWIC, you’ll be the go-to expert for Social Security beneficiaries exploring work opportunities. This role combines technical expertise, empathy, and strong communication to make meaningful change in people’s lives every day. Requirements

  • Has a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Brings experience working with individuals with disabilities
  • Is detail-oriented, organized, and curious about complex systems
  • Communicates clearly — in writing, in person, and over the phone
  • Thrives in a collaborative environment that values equity, diversity, and inclusion
  • Has a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and can pass SSA Level 5 security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized benefits planning and work incentives counseling
  • Help clients understand how employment affects their SSI, SSDI, Medicare, Medicaid, and other benefits
  • Offer referrals and connections to community resources and employment networks
  • Deliver presentations and outreach to community partners
  • Maintain accurate records, meet project deliverables, and stay current on federal and state program changes
  • Complete Social Security Administration (SSA) CWIC certification (training provided if not already certified)
