Community Support/Supported Employment Specialist (Livonia)
About The Position
This position supports individuals to obtain and maintain employment as well as achieve meaningful active participation in a variety of community settings. Who We Are Alternative Services is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting people with intellectual disabilities, mental illness and/or autism in their homes, jobs, and communities throughout the state of Michigan. We are seeking compassionate people to provide care and support in a vocational program setting. Full and Part-time positions are currently available in the Livonia, MI area.
Requirements
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- Possess a valid Michigan Driver License
- Excellent moral character
Responsibilities
- Assess consumers needs and desires related to community activities and employment.
- Support, assist and teach individuals needed skills such as job interview skills, interpersonal skills and resume creation.
- Develop a positive professional relationship with individuals' employers and a detailed understanding of the requirements of the individuals' job.
