Under general supervision, the manager oversees the daily operations of an assigned group of people receiving employment, day, personal support, and community support program. The manager with minimum assistance of supervisors directs and guides staff to match specific supports and interventions to the unique needs of the people receiving services, recognizing the importance of friends, family, and community relationships. These supports are generally during normal working hours, 5 days a week; none of these supports are 24/7. The Manager substitutes for direct service staff, as necessary, to fulfill any support duties. The Manager ensures that activities in all locations comply with guidelines established by the agency, the State of Maryland, and the businesses in which supported employment occurs. The Manager provides supervision and guidance to support staff, as assigned. The Manager maintains cooperative professional relationships with all support team members, following ethical standards of practice (confidentiality, informed consent, etc.). The Manager is responsible for maintaining adequate staffing, by communicating consistently with their Asst. Director/Director. The Manager maintains safety, and program activities of assigned services within the established budgetary guidelines. The Manager assures that the people assigned to him/her have access to the community, participating in activities of their choosing and making decisions that directly impact their lives. The Manager complies with any contractual obligations with the business community. The Manager is responsible for keeping track of the utilization, and staffing ratios in the systems utilized at The Arc of Southern Maryland.
