About The Position

Develops curricula and identifies community resources to build volunteer and preference-based opportunities for participants that links to the ISP goals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record and CORI is required at all times during employment with The Arc of Opportunity.
  • Ability to transfer, change, shower assist with toileting and all personal care needs of the individuals supported.
  • Computer literacy skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., kneel, bend and carry items, and sustain periods of walking, standing, and sitting.
  • Ability to physically assist individuals according to their needs and perform physical restraint if necessary.
  • Cross functional communication skills in written and oral
  • English which conveys clear and concise information in a professional and respectful manner to individuals supported, family members/guardians, peers, government agencies, community partners and employees.
  • Functional and situational reasoning to follow policy, problem solve, exercise sound judgment, prioritize multiple tasks, and manage crisis.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with Person Centered Plan Managers and Program Directors in delivering service standards of excellence and ensuring operational compliance within assigned program in accordance with federal, state and agency regulations.
  • Implement Individual Support Plans for individuals based on assessments, objectives and goals.
  • Create daily and weekly employment and skill development schedules based upon participants ISP goals, skills, and preferences.
  • Develop employment curriculum.
  • Complete and submit required electronic documentation, which includes monthly work site evaluations, attendance, billing and production sheets.
  • Timely and accurate coding for services into electronic medical records system for billing purposes.
  • Under the guidance of PD of Volunteer and Career development maintain a positive, professional relationship with community work sites.
  • Maintain ratio and facilitate group/programming as needed.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean, accessible program space in assigned home room area.
  • Ability to access all modes of transportation including driving and public transportation .
  • Attend mandatory trainings and meetings as required and assigned.
  • Actively advocates for participants.
  • Assists individuals with skill building and attainment of ISP/service plan goals.
  • Provides transportation to participants to community activities including performing safe lifts and transfers.
  • Demonstrates commitment to agency mission and The Way of The Arc in all interactions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
