About The Position

The Community Services Specialist II - Site/Center Lead plays a vital role in enhancing community well-being through the management and oversight of community centers and recreational programs. This part-time position involves working closely with the Recreation Coordinator and a supportive team to ensure the success of various programs, fostering an environment of wellness, joy, and learning. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency required.
  • One (1) year of paid or volunteer experience in a recreational field.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid California Class 'C' driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework in kinesiology, math, science, and language arts is highly desirable.
  • Experience in organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, supervise, and implement community-based recreation and enrichment programs.
  • Coordinate daily program operations including planning and upkeep of site and equipment.
  • Conduct and/or attend regular meetings and training sessions for program development.
  • Lead community outreach efforts to raise awareness and increase community involvement.
  • Provide direction and guidance to site staff, volunteers, and youth employees.
  • Monitor staff schedules and attendance.
  • Perform administrative duties including attendance tracking and monthly summaries.
  • Collaborate to develop and foster new programs and best practices.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of staff trainings.
  • Ensure established emergency and safety procedures are followed.
  • Document incidents/accidents and communicate appropriately with all parties.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor to uphold the City's image and core values.
