Community Residence Counselor - OMH programs Full-time shifts available: East Hills: Mon-Fri 3-11pm; 40 hours per week Hempstead: M/T/W/Sat/Sun 5-11pm; 30 hours per week Glen Cove: Mon-Fri 3-11pm; 40 hours per week Salary: $23.34/hour CHARLES EVANS CENTER, INC. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have NY driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Experience in a mental health related field preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide counseling, behavioral interventions, restorative services, assistance in negotiating community activities and crisis management services.
- Monitor, train and assist residents in all programs in household maintenance activities to ensure a clean, safe and homelike environment. Directly participate in household maintenance activities when required.
- Provide training, supervision and assistance to residents in daily activities including food purchases, recreational activities, and meal planning and personal care activities.
- Assist residents in developing meaningful service plan goals and provide supports to assist residents in achieving their goals.
- Conduct fire safety training activities.
- Document interactions with residents in accordance with agency policies and standards.
- Meet weekly, or as scheduled, with assigned primary residents for counseling and to establish and review service plan goals.
- Assist residents in procuring and maintaining financial entitlements.
- Monitor medications as required.
