The Community Relations Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of Halifax Health – Hospice community engagement, representation, education and informative activities/events within their designated service area. This will include community coordination within residential communities, clubs, health fairs, speaker bureaus, local chambers, professional organization members, nonprofit organizations, local government officials and local corporations. Highly motivated, self-starter who works effectively with minimum supervision. Must be well organized and efficient; must have a good command of grammar, spelling and punctuation; must have an ability to organize work quickly and efficiently and be comfortable working against deadlines; must exhibit professional, friendly attitude both on the telephone and in person. A minimum of three years’ experience in community relations and/or marketing. Must be well organized and able to multi-task priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work as a team member with supervisors, volunteers, fellow coworkers and the community. Must be willing to act as a liaison to any referral source who has a referral of which our services are needed. Willing to work unusual hours and weekends. Must have reliable transportation. Must be Bilingual (Spanish Speaking) for the Orange and Osceola market. EDUCATION: High school diploma required, college degree preferred. SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSURE: Must have a desire to work with volunteers, coworkers and the community. Must be able to multi-task and prioritize according to deadline. Must have demonstrated computer proficiency, specifically with Microsoft Office applications. Must be able to form effective working relationships with community partners and referral sources. Must have valid Florida driver’s license. Must have a strong knowledge of Hospice service Philosophy. Must have the ability to share the components of the program relevant to an audience including the most efficient way to access our services.
