About The Position

The Property Manager is responsible for the overall operational and financial performance of the assigned residential property. This role oversees day-to-day property functions, including resident relations, lease administration, maintenance coordination, budgeting, and compliance, to ensure a safe, well-maintained, and highly functioning environment. The Property Manager serves as the primary point of contact for tenants, vendors, and stakeholders, ensuring exceptional service delivery and maximizing property value and occupancy. This position requires strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of professionalism.

Requirements

  • Experience in property management (Assistant or Manager level)
  • Working knowledge of Fair Housing and landlord/tenant basics
  • Customer-service mindset; calm under pressure; solid written communication
  • Basic tech skills: Outlook, Excel/Word, Microsoft Teams

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple deadlines and daily/weekly/monthly operational requirements.
  • Support the Regional Property Supervisor in overall property operations and performance.
  • Market the property, lease vacant units, and maintain occupancy (pre-lease units and fill vacancies within 30 days).
  • Maintain knowledge of Fair Housing and ensure compliance with BFPM policies and all applicable federal, state, and local housing regulations.
  • Process invoices, rent collection, and financial transactions using Yardi, monitor rent roll and delinquency reports daily.
  • Prepare and serve required notices, including 3-day notices, and support legal processes when necessary.
  • Address resident concerns professionally and enforce community rules and lease agreements.
  • Conduct regular property inspections and ensure make-ready units are completed within 3–5 business days
  • Coordinate and follow up on maintenance work orders to ensure timely completion
  • Submit required reports (including monthly market surveys) and attend meetings, training, and emergency on-call duties as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
