Community Pharmacist-PRN
About The Position
The PRN Community Pharmacist works collaboratively with members of the pharmacotherapy department to help maintain schedule consistency in MAHEC Community pharmacies by providing pharmacy services at Biltmore and Enka/Candler pharmacy locations. Responsibilities may include providing direct patient care services related to medication access and clinical coordination at the Biltmore and Enka/Candler locations. This role description is a general description of the essential job functions. It is not intended to describe all the duties the PRN Community Pharmacist may perform.
Requirements
- Must be a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) in the state of North Carolina.
- Minimum of one year of clinical and/or community retail experience.
- Registered Pharmacist with an active and unencumbered license to practice in North Carolina or meets eligibility requirements for endorsement by the Board of Pharmacy.
- Eligibility to apply for Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner status.
- Eligibility for clinical faculty appointment with the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy and UNC School of Medicine.
- A valid North Carolina driver’s license required for regular in-town driving on a daily basis.
- Board Certification (BCPS, BCACP, BCGP, BCADM) is expected within one year of start date.
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database applications.
Nice To Haves
- Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with advanced training (Pharm.D.).
- Completion of an ASHP-accredited residency in pharmacy practice, community, geriatrics, or ambulatory care.
- Experience teaching and working collaboratively with other health care professionals and pharmacy students.
- Board certification preferred.
- Spanish speaking skills.
Responsibilities

- Provide direct patient care services related to medication access and clinical coordination at the Biltmore and Enka/Candler locations.
- Document encounters in the electronic medical record.
